Mazen Khaddaj

1985, Lebanon

Mazen Khaddaj is a Lebanese multidisciplinary artist.

Mazen was born in Aley to an Arabic-speaking, esoteric, ethnoreligious group known as Druze /dro͞oz/. Growing up in post civil war Lebanon limited his interaction with other Lebanese groups outside of his Druze community.

His lived experience as a Druze queer artist, his struggle with his identity and displacement, and imagination to Germany are subject of his art works.

Mazen is currently living in Berlin, Germany, where he is practicing his art. He still has strong ties to the Middle East and continues to engage in artistic activities there.
